The details around Mega Man Universe are sketchy at this point. It’s pretty obvious that the developers want to use mystery as a hype device. As a long-time fan of the series, I’m already enthralled. To my fellow Mega Man nerds I ask: What about you?
Judging from the teaser trailer they’ve released, it looks like we’ll get crossover characters from other Capcom games.
Does this mean that Mega Man will be able to battle every robot master from every game? Does it mean that Mega Man X will be able to use sweet wall-jumping and air-dashing to foil Elec Man? Does it mean you can play as Rush, Mega Man’s faithful robot dog? What about Roll and even Dr. Light? Can you play as Ryu and Arthur, battling against Dr. Wily’s minions? Will the game have – dare I say it – co-op and deathmatch multiplayer?
When I was younger and had played through several Mega Man games, I often had binary wet dreams (use your imagination; or on second thought, don’t) about being able to use the weapon from any robot master in the franchise against any other robot master. While that may not come to pass, I’m sure that whatever Capcom has in store for us with Mega Man Universe, it will be awesome.

That’s a very puzzling trailer. I know it’s just a teaser but I really have no idea what to expect from Mega Man Universe after watching it.
Hey, you’re not the only one to have had dreams (wet or otherwise) about a Mega Man game that involves more than just eight robot masters. I remember as a kid drawing out the plans for Mega Man Deluxe, which had like… over 30 bosses. Shit like Wisp Man and Radar Man. I even drew out the stage maps, Nintendo Power style, on some of that graph paper with tiny squares.
I think Capcom’s sitting on a gold mine with GIGA GIRL, a super cute and ultra pink alternative to the blue bomber. Of course, the bosses would also be girls. Perhaps things like… Mean Girl, or Drunk Girl.
That’s funny, BP and I also drew out stage maps for Mega Man games back in the day. If you still have yours around and you know where they are, I’d love to see them.
lol, good idea with Giga Girl. Other robot masters could include Fingernail Girl, Thinks She’s So Hot Girl, and Stole My Boyfriend Girl. The creator of the evil robot masters in the Giga Girl universe could be Dr. Lindsay Lohan.

It was a puzzling trailer – I suspect this is the one they made for Comi-Con LA.
I’d love a mega man universe as @MarkhamAsylum suggests, where one could play as any of the boss-mans or even build your own thinga-majig-man .
I’m not sure why Ryu or Arthur would have to be in it??? Wouldn’t that be more like Capcom Universe?

It’s all mysterious to be sure. The intrigue level on teh internetz is high. Hopefully it turns out to be worthwhile.
lol, yes, the Mega Man 1 cover guy would be funny to play. He probably sucks so bad that it’s the equivalent of a very hard difficulty setting.
