Speculation for Diablo III hitting consoles has been widespread since at least 2008. Since then, numerous sources have indicated that Blizzard Entertainment has been only “exploring” the possibility. Well, as the leaked timeline for Blizzard’s product launches shows, 2011 might be the year we see Diablo III, and maybe even on consoles! No longer is Blizzard just “exploring” the possibility, but is now “seriously considering” it.
AtomicGamer.com has a great interview with the Lead Content Designer of Diablo III, Kevin Martens, where he says that they are “seriously considering” putting Diablo III on consoles in the future, amongst much other marketing-blah-blah.
As a long time fan of the franchise (Diablo I came out about the time I got my license to drive), I would have bought a brand new PC in order just to play Diablo III. But if a decent port makes it onto console at about the same time as the PC/Mac versions come out, I would “seriously consider” that version to play from my couch instead. Because it is lonely sitting in front of the computer: at least on the couch I can have company like….some Cheetos or something.
How about you? Are you planning on playing Diablo III on PC, Mac, or Console?
Nevermind…you are probably too busy playing Portal 2…

| I’m the gamer your mother warned you about:
I was introduced to video games on the Atari 2600, and quickly moved to a Nintendo, where The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, and Dragon Warrior dominated my early non-Mario years. Now days, I do mostly PC gaming, and some console gaming. I’ve been in and out of rehab, and there’s no saving a nerd like me. NerdLife4Ever. ikecube has written 93 posts on Delta Attack. |
