Import Alert: The Last Story for sale now in PAL regions

Friday, February 24th, 2012 by

The Last Story, the first RPG that Hironobu Sakaguchi has directed since Final Fantasy V, is available in English in PAL regions. If you’re a Nintendo Wii owner who can’t wait to get his/her grubbies all over that game, pick it up today.

Hironobu Sakaguchi. The name may or may not be familiar to you, but the Gooch had a hand in creating some of the finest Japanese RPGs as a member of Squaresoft.

Sakaguchi’s Mistwalker Studios has seen mild success at best. So, Sakaguchi went back to the well one more time to make “The Last Story.”

The Gooch stated before that he came up with the name “Final Fantasy” because he thought it would be the final game he ever made before it saved Square. Now, is he playing off of that name or could “The Last Story” be Mistwalker’s last?

Remember, it’s relatively easy to softmod your Nintendo Wii for region-free gaming using ModMii. If you’re not sure how to do it, you can consult with our handy guide.

Oh, and you may as well pick up Xenoblade Chronicles while you’re at it.

Only on the Wii? Seriously? Fail sauce. And this is the first Mistwalker game to get great reviews.

Between lower development costs, a higher user base, and a gaping hole in the RPG genre, it really makes sense.

I am thinking about importing it, but don’t really have time for an RPG right now.
