Look no further, for each installation in this series will highlight 10 games that, should you find them for $0.99 or less, are worth checking out.

Tiny Heroes

Genre: Tower Defense

Tiny Heroes iOS

Can NOT pause and place towers. No fast-forward. Graphics not very polished. Standard TD.

Fantasy Defense

Genre: Tower Defense

Fantasy Defense iOS

Can pause and place towers. Good, pervasive upgrade system. Huge boobs on all females, so take care where you play. (More info from Mark A. Brooks)

Anodia

Genre: Brick Breaker

Anodia iOS

Fun items and interesting levels, but also pretty standard for the genre.

Feed Me Oil

Genre: Puzzle

Feed Me Oil iOS

Physics-based puzzler. Encourages sloppiness. Gets hard pretty quickly.

Qvoid

Genre: Puzzle

Qvoid iOS

Need to pick up colors from board by tilting cube, then match up colored cube faces to remaining board spaces. Simple touch controls.

Ticket to Ride Pocket

Genre: Board

Ticket to Ride Pocket iOS

Portable version of classic board game. Very accessible for casual gamers. Play against people or AI with a variety of difficulty.

Blade Dash

Genre: Runner

Blade Dash iOS

Jump and attack. Fun 8-bit graphics. Pretty simple; no missions to complete or items/upgrades to unlock.

Skipping Stone

Genre: Runner

Skipping Stone iOS

Bounce off the water. No missions to complete. Does have items to buy with in-game currency.

Escape from Age of Monsters

Genre: Runner

Escape from Age of Monster iOS

Break walls with color-coded gauntlets. Missions to complete. Items and upgrades to buy with in-game currency. Great graphics, sound, and sense of humor.

Azkend

Genre: Match

Azkend iOS

Create chains as long as possible. Play until a special tile appears, then get it to the bottom of the board. There’s a time limit in each level. Many levels to play.
