Plants vs. Zombies 2 is coming. Though the press release is short on details, PopCap Games has a tentative release date slated for Spring 2013.

Markham Asylum had a Plants vs. Zombies sequel on his wishlist. Considering how popular it is with casual and hardcore alike, making a sequel was a real no-brainer. While no platform has been announced, the first one was ported to every possible platform. I think it even showed up on the Tiger Game.com in some form. I’m sure we’ll get more of the same treatment here.

Plants vs. Zombies Sequel Will Feature Hordes of New Plant and Zombie Types and Mulch More

SEATTLE, Washington – August 20, 2012 — PopCap Games, maker of some of the world’s most popular video game franchises and a division of EA, today announced that the underground growth of the sequel to Plants vs. Zombies^™, one of the world’s most popular video games, is germinating and advancing with rigor.

The sequel to Plants vs. Zombies is expected to launch by late spring 2013, and will include a bevy of new features, settings, and situations, designed to delight the franchise’s tens of millions of fans around the world. No other details of the highly anticipated new installment in the franchise are available at this time, beyond the following comments from some of the game’s denizens.

“Spring is crullest curlie ungood time, and plantz grow dull roots,” noted an unidentified spokesperson. “So, we are meating you for brainz at yore house. No worry to skedule schedlue plan… we’re freee anytime. We’ll find you.”

“There was a time we relished a bracing, hearty blend of zombies, in the morning,” said Sonny F. Lower, a representative of the Flora Forever Foundation. “But first, a brisk shower and some strategic pruning are required. Tomorrow is near!”

    I must be having a brain fart… what’s the other one for me? Is there word of Etrian Odyssey IV or Culdcept 3DS being localized???
    
    lol, the Mega Man social game… they might as well just remake Mega Man Soccer. There is a slight chance it could be cool, though.

      Neither have been announced for localization, but Etrian Odyssey was released in Japan last month. I imagine they wouldn’t just leave money on the table like that, seeing as it has a pretty devout cult following.
      
      But you’ll have to excuse me. I fumble through games in Japanese (I must learn one day…) but forgot the 3DS is region-locked. That’s two reasons you wouldn’t already be all over it.
