Pauline Rescues Mario In Donkey Kong Role Reversal

Monday, March 11th, 2013 by

So the story behind this one is a cute one: Mike Mika and his 3-year old daughter often play video games together, and her favorite just happens to be Donkey Kong. After playing as Princess Toadstool in Super Mario Bros. 2, she naturally assumed she could do the same thing in Donkey Kong, and was bummed out to learn you can’t. So, in an act of super daddery, Mike put in a long night and hacked the ROM, replacing Mario with Pauline as the hero. I think a good “Daaaaaaaaaaaaw” is in order.

If you have the ROM and XDELTA, then you too can enjoy the fruit of Mike’s labor and download the Pauline patch here.
