games finished 2013

Looking back, I probably crammed in more gaming last year than any other, which is crazy, because it didn’t feel like that much. But the list speaks for itself.

These are the games that I finished, like, to the end. I didn’t bother to list the stuff I dabbled in then eventually abandoned. Granted, some of these games don’t have a hard end, per se. There does come a time, however, when you’re tired of making crappy stick figures in Draw Something 2.

Also, I gave them all a grade. These reflect my own opinion and may be in conflict with Delta Attack’s official reviews. Keep that in mind. Fade to Slack, for example, gave Ridiculous Fishing 3 stars in our official review. Well I’m giving it 5, damn it! Because dual-gatling fish explosions.

  1. You like Mega Man 3 better than 2, huh? Something never quite set right with me about that one… maybe the giant cats, or the spermy things in Gemini Man’s stage, or the weird inclusion of the Mega Man 2 robot masters in the shadow stages when you didn’t have the weapons they were weak against. I dunno.

Then again, if I could remove my nostalgia for Mega Man 2 like I can with Castlevania: Symphony of the night, maybe I’d be able to see that Mega Man 3 is technically the better game, just like Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin is technically the better game. Certain games seem unable to be removed from nostalgia, though, even when you don’t explicitly feel that nostalgia while revisiting them.

    • Don’t get me wrong – I loves me some MM2 – but 3 feels more balanced and less archaic. It’s not quite the difference between 1 and 2, but you get me.

Although, if we were to judge based solely on music and boss names, then 2 pretty much crushes all of them.
