Cut the Rope: Experiments is free in the App Store

May 24th, 2012 by

Cut the Rope: Experiments is currently a free app for Memorial Day Apple’s first “Free Game of the Week.” While there are tons of steals in the App Store at the moment, there are few games that I would recommend over the Cut the Rope games.  It’s the perfect mix between pick-up-and-play and brain teasing physics puzzler that, until recently, couldn’t be done on another platform.

Cut the Rope: Experiments has seen a handful of updates since I reviewed it last year, each adding another level box and puzzle gimmick to the game.

Here’s your link to the App Store. Go download it, now!

Perofella, Persona 4 porn, comes out next week (potentially NSFW)

May 20th, 2012 by

Hey, remember that Persona 4 cosplay porn that I posted about back in March? Well, it’s less than a week until Perofella comes out and Asagawo Blog got their hands on it. Or at least one of them. Here are a few of the safer screens.

Warren Spector on Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two

May 16th, 2012 by

Just a quick update, as I may be the only person looking forward to the Mickey Mouse and Ephraim the Retarded Rabbit Oswald the Lucky Rabbit team-up. I enjoyed Epic Mickey on Wii, but there was no denying the shoddy camera ruined an otherwise great experience.

This video provides a look at the game in motion with Warren Spector.

It’s great to see Bosko and Honey Oswald and Ortensia together again.

I may spend a little too much time on Cartoon Brew.

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition sells 1,000,000 in one week

May 15th, 2012 by

Wow. Just wow. Major Nelson stated yesterday that Minecraft surpassed the one million mark in one week, smashing all sorts of digital download records in the process.

Last week, Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson tweeted, “Well then. Saw the official sales numbers for the first 24 hours of Minecraft Xbox 360, and it’s very, very good. Profitable in an hour.” So, congrats… make it rain, Notch! Make it rain.

Jetpack Joyride is now on Facebook

May 11th, 2012 by

After Angry Birds made the transition, I suppose it was only a matter of time before other developers ported their iOS and Android hits to Facebook. Enter my pick for the 2011 iOS Game of the Year, Jetpack Joyride.

If you have a Facebook account and some spare time, it doesn’t get a whole lot easier to understand than the one-button (in this case, space bar) gameplay of Jetpack Joyride.

Wrath: A Diablo III Animated Short

May 10th, 2012 by

This is perhaps the final just-for-fun video that we’ll see from Blizzard before Diablo III launches next Tuesday, 5/15. It features cartoon-style animations, and centers around fights between the angels of the High Heavens and the twisted denizens of the Burning Hells. As you would expect from Blizzard, it’s pretty well done:

Keep an eye on the App Store May 5th.

May 4th, 2012 by

Apple’s App Store is insanely competitive. Publishers find an excuse to temporarily drop their prices all the time.

President’s Day? Save a few Washingtons and pick up our game for just one dollar!
Valentine’s Day? You’re going to LOVE these prices.
National Pancake Day? I had pancakes last week! Make our game sell like hotcakes!

May 5th is, as our Spanish-speaking crowd is well aware, Cinco de Mayo.

Correction: Witch Wars totally not Dungeon Raid… bummer.

May 3rd, 2012 by

A couple days back, I tossed out a preview for Com2uS’ Witch Wars with, really, next to no information and a shitload of speculation. The game definitely looked like Dungeon Raid, perhaps the best (and most unique) match-3 in the App Store, but with multiplayer elements. I should have known better, though.

Com2uS just posted the above trailer for Witch Wars over on YouTube. Within seconds, you can tell the only things the game have in common are what led me to believe it was like Dungeon Raid in the first place: swords leaning to the right and a 6×6 grid.
