There’s no shortage of tower defense games in the App Store, but Fighting of Sango: Legend of Heroes stands out as one of the prettier ones, taking full advantage of Apple’s so-called “retina display” resolution to make it one of the best looking sprite-based games I’ve ever seen.

Using one thumb to aim your lance and the other thumb to position your shield, you guide your jousting champion through a series of medieval battles in an entirely too-long single-player campaign to win the heart of the princess, or some such thing. And you thought contemporary girls were demanding.
Jetpack Joyride Is Bombastic Fun

There are so many things to love about Jetpack Joyride and virtually nothing to hate; the presentation is slick and every second spent playing is filled with some sneaky diversion to keep you from putting the game down. At $.99, it’s a steal-and-a-half.
