Episode 009: Ignorance Isn’t Always Bliss

December 8th, 2012 by

Failures. We’ve all had them. Some of us more than others. Yeah, I’m looking at you, Todd. If you ever want to be a part of this family again, you need to get back on your feet and stop using. Don’t you see? You’re tearing this family apart!

The DA Crew triangulates to bring you this nerdy little slice of heaven. Contrary to what the song says, heaven can’t wait.

Today’s episode covers a short discussion on Final Fantasy IV. Well, short for us. Then we glaze over how Mother 3 made Fade cry like he just watched a puppy fall into a running blender. Ni no Kuni makes an appearance for people who love Level 5 and Studio Ghibli, which SHOULD be everyone. Then we just… yeah… we talk. Things get weird… more than once.

Honestly, this is a hodgepodge potpourri variety pack of a show, but you’ve got time to spare.

final fantasy iv the complete collection rydia whip

Rydia is beautiful and calm on the outside, but she can unleash torrents of destructive black magic and call upon the power of the Eidolons at will. Similarly, the theme for Final Fantasy IV’s Feymarch and the cave leading to it is serene, but it belies the brutal enemies that lay in wait for unsuspecting intruders.

Review: Final Fantasy IV The Complete Collection

May 25th, 2011 by

The Final Fantasy that spawned the most ports and remakes of any in the series is back once more, this time for the PSP. Is its attractive new face-lift and extra content enough to warrant yet another trek through the realm of Final Fantasy IV? You bet your sweet ass it is.

Final Fantasy 2 Commercial Is Seething With Baditude

May 9th, 2011 by

Personally, I’m glad I never saw this commercial back in the day, as Final Fantasy IV (2 US) is very special to me and this advertisement straight breaks my fucking heart. Why post-adolescent “attitude” was such a marketing cornerstone back then, we’ll never know.

Back when Final Fantasy IV was numbered as II on the Super Nintendo, I figured out a trick that allows you to make the latter portion of the game easier. It centers around the mechanic that puts returning party members at roughly the same level as your current highest-level character.

Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection Includes All New 15-Hour Journey, “Interlude”

March 23rd, 2011 by

Takashi Tokita confirms that, in addition to having graphically juiced up remakes of Final Fantasy IV and The After Years, the upcoming Final Fantasy IV: Complete Collection will also introduce a brand new game that bridges the gap between them, called “Final Fantasy IV: Interlude”.
