PBS Off the Book tackles the topic of competitive gaming and E-sports in this mini-documentary, scoffing at the notion that games are a waste of time. On the contrary, it can be quite lucrative for those with the drive and commitment to see it through.

From LAN parties, to RTS, to sexism, it’s all comprehensively covered here in less than eight minutes. It’s a cool video; I especially enjoyed the commentary on Street Fighter, but then I may be a little biased in that regard.

If you’ve got seven minutes or so, then you owe it to yourself to watch this featurette on the creativity of indie games. You will probably walk away with a little more appreciation for independent games than you had before; it’s a great discussion of general game design, as well.

PBS Arts Off-Book series tackles video games in this seven minute exploration of the medium. It’s a great little discussion on gaming in general, and goes into detail on how game designers struggle to bring gravity and meaning to the choices the player makes while interacting with video games.

Also, Jesper Juul looks a lot like Delta Attack’s own ikecube. Seriously, it’s fucking uncanny.
