Humble Bundle with Android 5 is here, contains Super Hexagon

March 5th, 2013 by

humble_bundle_droid_5I don’t know about you, but I love gaming on the cheap. Indie games scratch the gaming itch just enough that I’ve pretty much become a mobile-only gamer.

Enter Humble Bundle with Android 5. In this Humble Android Bundle, pay what you want to get DRM-free games and Android-compatible APKs, and maybe push some money towards charity at the same time.

This bundle brings four games to the party: Dynamite Jack, Solar 2, Nightsky HD, and Beat Hazard Ultra. Pay more for your bundle than the average user, and you’ll net yourself Super Hexagon and Dungeon Defenders as well.

Review: Super Hexagon (iOS)

January 28th, 2013 by

super_hexagon_titleThere are very few words I can use to describe Super Hexagon. If we were to play word association, the first word that comes to mind is “difficult.” That, in no way, does justice to the game. Others have bandied about the words “most difficult game ever,” but hearing that would cause people to anticipate frustration. That is not the case.

You see, like Super Meat Boy before it, Super Hexagon has that blend of perfect control and steep difficulty that rewards players for their prowess in a way that few games ever do. I never felt like the game was being cheap. There are no leaps of faith or spike traps to be found here. When I died, I knew it was my own fault and not some scripted death.

You play and you learn. You start to notice patterns. You start to react better. You focus better. You move without thinking.

Super Hexagon now on Google Play

January 21st, 2013 by

super_hexagon_playTerry Cavanaugh’s minimalist survival runner, Super Hexagon, is now available for Android users. It is a definite treat for those of you who just don’t know when to give up. You will try, try again… and again… and again.

You’ll have to excuse me, as I’ve been slacking for far too many months, for not having the review up for Super Hexagon. You’re just going to have to take my word for it, Android gamers, when I say you need this game to humiliate you and your so-called “skillz.”

Pick it up over on Google Play at a 66% off introductory price.

When anyone asks what happens to your pride, try not to let them see your tears when you say, “It fell down the stairs.”
