Episode 005: iOS, 3DS, and Penny Arcade Can Kiss My S.

July 14th, 2012 by

In this very special episode of the Delta Attack Podcast, everybody learns a very valuable lesson about life, love, and respect when the kids find a magical hat that takes them to a post-apocalyptic future where robotic vampires rule the world.

That, or we give our impressions on Tiny Wings 2.0 and Rovio’s Amazing Alex for iOS and Theatrhythm on 3DS. Then, we look at two very different Kickstarter campaigns in OUYA and Penny Arcade. Finally, we talk about the graphical leap in the upcoming generations and wonder aloud if game graphics are about to plateau.

Hurry! Grab your snacks. The show’s about to start.

Tiny Wings 2.0 is coming July 12th to iOS

July 6th, 2012 by

I have no idea what that teaser is teasing. Is it an update to Tiny Wings? Is it an entirely new sequel? All I know is that I have money ready just in case, because it’s coming July 12th.

Landing in a nest next to an egg? Are we finally going to get a mode other than Endless?

We’re rather fond of Tiny Wings around these parts. It’s hard to put your finger on just what makes it so great, but you can simply feel it in everything it does. I even threw the Tiny Wings Theme MP3 on my iPhone.

Tiny Wings Review (iOS)

November 16th, 2011 by

Tiny Wings is a massively adorable game in which you help a bird travel as far as possible before nightfall. The bird’s wings are, sadly, too small for flight, requiring you to take advantage of momentum by pressing your finger to the screen to make him dive down a hill, and then release at the right time to send the little guy soaring off the incline.

Review: Jetpack Joyride (iOS)

September 4th, 2011 by

Halfbrick’s Fruit Ninja was a casual success story, but it wasn’t much of a game. It was simplistic, at best, and annoying at worst. I know there are people out there who absolutely love it, but I have a feeling they’re the same people who were really into Doodle Jump. They were people who weren’t playing a lot of games over the past ten years or who were relatively new to games.

Let’s cut to the chase: Halfbrick has another iOS hit on their hands, but there’s no way it will be as successful as Fruit Ninja. Fruit Ninja was a casual blast that everyone could pick up, play, and understand. Jetpack Joyride, though easy enough to understand, is not that game.

Are you a new iPhone 4 or iPad 2 owner? Perhaps you’re waiting for the iPhone 5 to be released later in the year. Great. Welcome to the cult. You should know Apple’s AppStore is a little overwhelming.

Good news, true believer! I’m here to guide your purchases and needlessly use Stan Lee catchphrases. So, pick up a fifty dollar iTunes card, and let’s begin.

Tiny Wings sits atop the App Store charts

Sometimes a picture speaks a thousand words. This is one of those cases for those who understand the picture.
